Hermetic Sound - Melody Scenes (Konfort014)

Science fiction digitronics
And again a release for your digital campfire. It's Hermetic Sound (Javier Urzua, Vincent Velasco) from Mexico on Discos Konfort . This release sound to me like it was beamed to future with a selfmade time-machine. Results are dark, atmospheric sounds and beats damaged by time-travelling. "Sweet and luscious melodies bring light and hope into the dark and claustrophobic ambiances achieved by ruthless complex rhythms and oppressive sounds. This heterogeneous collection of tracks are like snapshots from a sonic journey from shadow into light." And i like it.

Brooklyn Indie-folk sentimentals
Last week i stumbled upon this album from Tsui, which is Mark Kraus from Brooklyn. He decided "that the best way for people to hear Tsui is for them to own the album; and the best way for everyone to own the album is for me to give it to them for free, at least for a little while"

French underground music compilation
This one on Alterlabel from France is only downloadable in one piece of zip. My first impressions of this release were very mixed - but after hearing this one several times it's become more and more prominence in my playlists. Some songs are very nice, some more meaningless... but that's personal taste. Overall, this is a quite good, very relaxed and sometimes melancholic compilation of contemporary french underground - music ranges from indy-hop over electronica to folk-flavoured songs. You can pre-listen this release only on Jamendo , unfortunately they don't provide seperated mp3 tracks. My personal favorites are track 6 & 10 from Kid Charlemagne, and track 19, Already dead from Krank. Taste it!

The first result of this cooperation are 3 nice pop songs, made in april 2007 and now released for free on the It's a musical! bandpage. Vibraphone, trumpet, vocals, soul. "It's simply a musical you shouldn't miss..."
Prototypes - Je ne te connais pas EP (Mintyfresh)

French neo-electro-wave-rock bangers
Flashback! With friendly permission, these are promo mp3's from Minty Fresh Records. This is about kicking electro-punk, wave-rock music from the well known and loved Prototypes from France. For those few people out there who don't know them, download is highly recommended... Get ready to face these 80's synths, rock guitars, punchy electronics and the harsh vocals of Isabel Le Doussal. Nevertheless that this one is from 2006 (i guess...), it's untamable ass-kicking groove and this catchy songs let me put it back to memory. And, not least, i can't get enough of 'Je ne te connais pas', which is one of my favourite songs right now.
All about Max - Nothing to say (muerte005)

Sweet instrumental folk-pop
This is the first release of an italian guy who calls himself 'All about Max'. It's up on Muertepop records in a co-production with Peteran records . And it's a fine one. Acoustic guitar chords, sweet melodies, understated electronics and a portion melancholia - the songtitles suggest that this release is about an autobiograhic story. There are no vocals on this one, as the title says: Nothing to say... Instead he plays 'just music', and that's fine. The release notes desribes his music like eating a cake: the delicacy of Postal Service, Sufjan Stevens, The Album leaf and Death Cab For Cutie have inspired and sometimes influenced autobiographic facts told by Max. Fine one for long warm summer evenings, very positive!

Latin jazz-tronics from Brazil
What a funny one! Heavy latino jazz-tronic will attack your brain with this actual release on Pharmacom Records , the label of Sascha Müller. Aerotrio stands for the three musicians Paulo Guilherme, Fábio Araújo and Edmar Travassos from Brasil who released an unbelieveble mashup jazz style lp with latin influences. All songs are pure jazz improvisations and constructions and sometimes not easy to follow, but very fresh, innovative, funny and originally. Provided with this 'groovy swing', Aerotrio will make you smile, dance or even go bananas...

Our first compilation
Yep, it's done. Here comes our first online compilation full of selected netaudio pearls. Steppin' through different styles and genres but still looking for the 'special track'.
Starting with the extraordinary folktronic piece Carte postale from Bacanal Intruder . Second track is is the nice campfire song Away with words by Crepusculum , taken from the fantastic Electronica unplugged release (aerotone).
Next, again folk-coloured electronica from Héctor Zarate with Coke, Cigarettes And You (whole ep) followed by one of my favourites - Lucrecia from Colombia with Let's pretend - what a wonderful song... Daniel Maze takes us down a step deeper into great electro-acoustic electronica with Whats Your Poison (whole ep) before Loafeye drops down still deeper with his fantastic Drinking Rosewater.
After this Acidhead impresses with his remix of Handful of dust from Fabryka, until the digital dub-rockers from Illyah & Ltd. Candy invites for a dance (or even other things...) with Fight The Formation. You're a versatile dancer? Cool, stay on the floor and take RMF's Rhodesia. Once on the floor, keep falling deep into Deymare's Smalltown poem, a deep understated house track. Easy Changes are now coming up with the perfect minimal glitches of Imagine, so stay tuned to the floor. You'll maybe thinking about steppin' off the dancefloor when hearing the first seconds of Esta fiesta apesta from Trópico esmeralda, a wild electro-jazz orgy, but hold on, because now you will get in touch with Perdón from Sintecoraz , a wonderful chiptronika song with much much soul and melody.
Lomov will let you slowly come down to earth with Opvox. Finally, Nest closes our first selection with the wonderful piano track lodge.
